Mark is an Albuquerque-based entrepreneur (and former rock star) who has a gift for developing simple solutions to long standing problems. He is effective by himself, but particularly dangerous when he has a team of motivated, capable agents. He’s on a quest to restore competency and excellence to the heart of the American Dream.
As the recipient of an English Literature degree from Arizona State University, Mark has had his fair share of odd jobs. He has worked at coffee shops, opened web design firms, and managed people twice his age. His path has left him with a healthy appreciation for the work he does now and a strong set of business skills in key areas:
- Employee Recruitment and Retention
- Small Business Marketing
- Project Management
- Social Media Networking
- System Design and Training
- Quickbooks Accounting and Budgeting
- Website Design
Currently Mark serves as the CEO of Omniac Education, a private education firm specializing in Academic Tutoring, College Consulting, and Test Preparation. Each year Omniac helps thousands of students apply to the schools of their dreams through innovative programs. They primarily focus on students living in New Mexico, but often use the internet to reach out to other parts of the globe.
Beyond Omniac Education, Mark has come to serve as an evangelist for a particular kind of “unrealistic” goal setting. He believes that we can accomplish great things…but only if we let ourselves believe that we are capable of greatness. Some of his projects, like Albuquerque Dreamers, are an explicit effort to unlock that potential in others, a place where his teacher nature meets his “unrealistic” philosophy.
This blog is an attempt to put forward some of what Mark knows about moving projects from conception to completion, building successful and sustainable teams, and generally surviving the process of doing work that matters. He’s hoping that you’re on a journey that he can help you finish, so please post in the comments and get actively involved in the community when you can.
